  1. Really very interesting themes for the purpose.Nice article. Thanks for sharing.I will refer my students about it.

  2. Usually the one you make is the best that really suits your needs.

    • Of course, not everyone can create a bespoke theme – but if you have the skills, why not? 🙂

  3. Sometimes, it get’s me thinking. Why many good and well-selling themes are cheap compared to not so popular ones.

    • There are many factors – method of distribution, development time, and popularity are just a few.

Just be thankful that some themes – such as Divi 🙂 – are incredibly cost-effective!

  4. Awesome list, will buy one for sure

    • Good stuff, Sourabh. 🙂

  5. hi thanx for this article it is very usefull porfolio theme collection for everyone, keep it on.

    • Thanks Cristina!

  6. The price for the phoenix is not correct. The 16$ are for the html version and not the wordpress version. the real price is 49$ for the phoenix wordpress version.

    • Thanks for the heads up, I’ve corrected it.

  7. Thanks .its really a good collection

    • Thanks. 🙂

  8. Hi Tom, thanks for the list. My vote goes for Ronneby, I created a number of sites based on it. Imho it is one of the best themes on themeforest, it is battle-tested and has an exceptional support.

    • Thanks for your input and insight, Elijah!

  9. With the exception of a good image grid capability DIVI could everything that is in any of the above.

I would like to see a review of plugins that work with DIVI that can do a Masonry style image layout. That would be awesome. I’ve been hoping for this with every update but hasn’t happened.

As awesome as DIVI is the handling of images or groups of images is a big black hole in the product. By the time image handling is added the masonry will be out of style. One step behind.

    • That’s a potentially interesting idea! Who knows, you may see post on the subject in the future. 🙂

      Thanks for your comment!

      • I would prefer to not use any plug-ins at all and do everything in DIVI native. DIVI is just so amazing. I’ve tried a few plugins but they don’t seem to work with DIVI to well.

        Maybe someday.

        • Bill Wells wrote:

          > I would prefer to not use any plug-ins at all
          > and do everything in DIVI native.

That goes without saying, doesn’t it, so I endorsed your suggestion of “a review of plugins that work with DIVI that can do a Masonry style image layout” … 😉

          > DIVI is just so amzing.

          Absolutely, I fully agree!

          • > DIVI is just so amzing

in my quotation of Bill’s commentary was, of course, meant to read

            > DIVI is just so amazing!
            🙂

      • Hi Tom,

I also endorse the suggestion made by Bill Wells. Masonry style image galleries really are one of the (IMHO very few) missing features with Divi, so an article on workarounds by means of compatible plugins would be awesome indeed!

BTW, being new to WP, I have lately come across your contributions on several WP channels and I just wanted to tell you that I find your tutorials and articles always very helpful and well written. Meanwhile, if I see somewhere you are the author of an article, I know it will be worth while reading it. 🙂

        • Thank you for your kind words!

  10. Great collection of portfolio theme. But just a one question are ThemeForest themes are reliable as many of them didn’t get updates.

    • Themeforest themes are great if you don’t want to use the theme developers license for revslider, visual composer, layer slider etc. they are a real pain to upgrade. You have to uninstall those plugins and find from the developer where to get the latest version to upload and then it works again. I found for clients they can’t or don’t want to do all of that, all they want to do is click do a backup and click to upgrade.

      • Well Theresa so many themes at TF use those plugins as a base. I like it when I see a new theme that does not use it, but in some cases they are limited use themes.

    • I say if a theme has not been updated in a long time it can wind up causing problems down the road as WordPress continues to get updates.

  11. I wish you would put a “back to the top” element on your blogs. It is so nice when people do that. Thanks.

    • Well we do have free plugins for that. I say it would not be a bad thing to have.

  12. I would be more interested to get a detailed & concrete documentation on how to rebuild those exercises with divi!

    • I like your thinking, Johannes. 🙂

  13. Hi,

Are all these portolio theme compatible with DIVI 3 builder ?

    • As of right now the Divi Build Plugin hasn’t been updated with the front-end builder. Our devs are working on it now. When launched it should be compatible with any of these. However, with so many different potential conflicts across so many themes, anyone who notices something not working correctly is encouraged to report bugs to support.

  14. To be Honest I took a look at the “Pile” Theme, as intrigued by what possibly could be offered thats so different to so many at that ridiculous price tag, and was not impressed at all.

However No:13 Colours Creative really impressed me, with a great use of colours and display. Safe to say, some will always have a preference to what they like, but thats the one that stood out for me in this round.

But then again I like big bold colours.

    • Thanks for your insight, Adam!

  15. Hi,

For your information, PILE 2 has incredibly increased its price up to 225$.

This is a very weird ‘twist’ for themes on TF marketplace, as some comments try to understand on what founded purposes this can be. See the team response by yourself…

    • 225 bucks!?!?!?!?!?!?

Can anyone here tell me WHY that one single theme is worth 225 bucks when most of the WordPress themes I see at TF go for no more than 59 bucks??

        • Well that explains the price move to 225 bucks. I feel they are not going to get massive sales at that price point.

      • Yes Richard! Indeed, I was wondering the same as you did. This is a very weird pricing upscale practice on TF. PILE 2 is not exceptional theme as their pretend, as I monitor most of the best TF themes since 4 years, I can tell you there are advanced themes that cost no more than 59$

        • Yes and some of them are the most sold themes at TF.

  16. Hi,

there is a “little” mistake in PILE’s price !

    • Oh wow, yeah you’re right. I think some of the themeforest authors may have changed their prices since we wrote this? Either way it’s been changed. May take a little while for the cache to clear on our end and show the change.
