Happy Spring, Divi Community! 🌷🌦💐

I can’t believe we’re in quarter two of 2021. 😅 Usually, I want this time of year to slow down so the gorgeous Spring weather can be relished. But, I’m ready to see and hug humans again! I’m ready to set up tables and put out swag for meetups. I want to go to a concert! 😅 So, in light of the pandemic we’re still in, let the time-flies-fast feels continue. Let the path toward herd immunity take its course as fast as possible and let’s get our meetups back to IRL events! 💯🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏾💥

Let’s Welcome Our New Meetup Meetup Group and Host

Please give a warm welcome to our new host! We just onboarded a new Divi meetup, and we’re thrilled to introduce you to the her.

Kori Ashton Divi San Antonio

Kori Ashton of Divi San Antonio

Meet the host, Kori Ashton:

I’m excited to be a female, WordPress entrepreneur. I launched my first agency in 2012 and sold it in 2017. I’m currently building out a full new hybrid agency focused on Divi sites. I teach all things WordPress on my YouTube channel weekly.

Divi equals empowerment. As a non-developer, I highly rely on the “machine” that Divi is. It’s exciting to introduce others to this powerful resource and watch them get excited too. Divi can do anything! The more I learn it, the more I believe in it.

Divi San Antonio already hosted their first virtual meetup! Kori brings incredible energy to the group and we’re ecstatic to onboard this group!

Updates from Existing Groups

Gosh, we felt a rumble in our community this past month. The pandemic effect finally caught up to our Divi community as we lost several groups. I mean, all is well and will be well. Building a strong community takes dedicated and authentic work. This requires making hard decisions. The silver linings? Our network is stronger than ever. Our active groups are innovating and growing their communities. Our internal network of organizers are communicative and energetic and it shows. 🥰

We held a DIVI Happiness Bar over [the] lunch hour and covered the latest performance updates that Nick mentioned on Facebook. Everyone’s excited and we decided to have a full-on performance optimisation (taking Core Web Vitals into account) session next month to prepare for the changes Google is making. Some users showcased some of their work too and it was a great interactive session.

Divi’s Animation Features came to life when Rosalinda Huck, one of the co-organizers of Divi-Sacramento showed us how animation works. Animation is a great feature, but only when it’s leveraged correctly for just the right effect.

Divi Chicago fire! It’s a thing! 🔥

Hello Divi nation. This month’s meetup was quite interesting; we had Raya Stoilova from Siteground.
Right from the day we learnt Raya will be available to present, I was quite excited. The meeting started on time and our presenter arrived early enough.
After a brief self-introduction of all attendees, the guest speaker took us through the great features that Siteground has to offer and what to look out for in a hosting provider.
Among several salient points discussed, speed and security were very vital, adoption of new platforms – cloud-like google and Amazon by hosting companies [were] also mentioned.
We only hope Divi and Siteground can do something to bring this hosting company to Nigeria.

Gettin’ it done, Divi Lagos! Love it! 💥

[Ten] amazing Divi fans showed up to learn about Local Development. We spoke about three solutions that let you work with WordPress and Divi from your desktop/laptop computer. Products we covered were: Bitnami’s WordPress stack, Local by Flywheel, and Desktop Server by ServerPress, LLC. Many had questions around site migration and decided we will cover this in our next Meetup.

“Make Beautiful Responsive Tables and Enhance Your Divi Designs” was presented by David Blyth from Divi-Modules for our April Meetup. He shared information and demonstrated a few of his main plug-in products such as Table Maker and Typewriter. The plugins add fun and practical solutions to the Divi designer’s toolbox. We’d love to have you join our international group of virtual attendees for our next Meetup. Join in at Divi NYC.

In April, we splashed into our topic meeting with lots of color! We discussed a bit of color theory basics in design, how to choose a color palette for projects, and Rosalinda demonstrated how to use the Divi Global Color system. Join us in May, where we’re excited to have a guest speaker for both our topic meeting and monthly Q&A meeting.

Love it, Divi Sac-Town! Catch their next meetup for suresies! 🙌🏼

This month we gave an in-depth demonstration on how to configure Analytics, Conversion Tracking, Dava Visualization, and Reporting with Divi. We started by going over basic Google Analytics integration and Google Search Console verification. Then we stepped it up with Google Tag Manager, configuring custom events, and creating goals in Google Analytics. Last we connected everything to Google Data Studio and built a custom dashboard complete with automated email reporting. All said and done, we demonstrated a modern workflow for tracking conversions, analytics, and putting the data into a useful format for gaining deeper insights [into] website trends.

Yass, Divi Seattle! 💯

Divi Tampa

From the Host, Steve Willingham:

Attendees: 8

The virtual Divi-Tampa Ingenious April 2021 meetup was held on Thursday, Apr 29 at 1PM EST. We had 8 very engaged members out of 19 sign-ups attending, all with different levels of expertise. [Five] attendees were from the Tampa Bay area, 2 from California, and 1 from Connecticut so it was a nicely diverse group. We had an engaging web development Q & A, and great ideas about implementing databases and deeper functionality within Divi sites. We also discussed implementing responsive image sizing based on user devices, compliance with ADA regulations, and the breadth of various Divi and WordPress plugins. We’re looking forward to our next virtual meetup in May, and tentatively, very tentatively anticipating that we may be able to re-start in-person meetups again in July or August.

Wonderful news, Divi Tampa! Can’t wait! 🤸🏻‍♀️
