Meet the host, Daniel Peres Lins:

For seven years, I have been applying my expertise in corporate digital solutions for startups and consolidated corporations, developing corporate websites, e-commerce, publications, hotsites and digital portfolios, using SEO techniques, digital strategic planning, user experience, web analytics, usability, Google Ads, content marketing, user journey, and lead management.

Graduating in Internet Systems at the Federal Center for Education Technology (CEFET-RJ), I was also an e-commerce support/development specialist at JM Santos Lima and a digital media assistant at Unimed Federação Rio.

I intend to build a network of professionals who work with Divi for the professional development of each one,
disseminate the functions of Divi in ​​Rio de Janeiro.

As with all our sessions, it was a great meeting of the minds! During this site clinic, we shared knowledge surrounding: LearnDash and Easy Digital Downloads integration; responsive design with Divi; the differences between the Divi Builder and the Divi theme, as well, [we] provided recommendations for Canadian web hosting companies and security tips. If you missed this session, you can always catch it on our YouTube channel. We also save and host the chat from the meetup on our website which comes with links to various resources and contacts shared during the clinic.

We kicked things off with a social check-in to see how everyone’s handling our current lockdown levels and how business is going. We then introduced DIVI’s latest features (this will become a regular event in our monthly sessions) and covered the latest performance updates. This was very well received from attendees. Finally, we tended to some support queries (round table style) to discuss a variety of DIVI related topics.

We had a great turnout for our January Meetup. This is the one that featured Sumner Davenport, a web accessibility expert who provided a thorough rundown on how to build for accessibility with Divi. While we touched on the legal ramifications for building to ADA standards, Sumner provided [and] demonstrated the experience those with different abilities [have]. She emphasized empathy and suggested that [when we] improve our sites for different abilities, [we] improve the experience for everyone.

Our largest meetup to date for Nelson miller’s presentation on “The Divi Theme Builder Overview, Benefits, and Use Cases.” Nelson started by covering an overview of the builder, shared how-to’s, organizational tips, and various live examples. We had a robust Q&A and Nelson was all in with teaching the Divi Community on the spot-techniques.

We started off the year with an excellent ol’ fashioned Q&A. We had great questions about SEO diving deeper into modifying SEO snippets, SEO Titles, how to Bulk Edit all of your posts and pages, along with a few advanced tidbits as well. Lastly, we talked about the importance of Accessibility for websites as one of our attendees blew our minds with his knowledge on such an important topic. We definitely need to ask him to come back.

We kicked off 2021 with an interactive discussion about topic ideas for this year’s Meetup events. Overall we had a wide variety of suggestions ranging from SEO and Conversion Tracking to Running a Divi Design Business and Divi Workflow. After our discussion, we went over best practices for setting up a new Divi site from scratch, which Theme Options to configure, and miscellaneous WP settings to play well with Divi. Throughout 2020 we had several requests for Meetups to be recorded so members can refer back to them later. We started doing that this month. Looking forward to a prosperous year full of learning and growth!

The Divi-Tampa virtual January 2021 meetup was held on Thursday, Jan 21 at 1PM EST. We had 3 very engaged members attending, each with some interesting questions to ask and answers to share. During the meetup we shared our website screens and questions about site response time, image optimization, header/footer importing, hiding the default footer, and other curious tidbits that we could easily learn from each other. We even shared a bit of CSS code in the chat.

We’re looking forward to our next virtual meetup in February, and eagerly anticipating the time when our meetups may again be in person.
