Hello to our beautiful Divi community! July has come to an end, and it’s been a jam-packed month! We’ve been super busy onboarding new groups and supporting current groups. Our theme this summer is consistency. Summer months can be slow for folks in our industry, but that doesn’t mean your local Divi meetup stops. Consistency is vital for building communities, and healthy, active communities are what we strive to achieve!
Let’s dive into our current stats and community updates.

Let’s Welcome Our New Meetup Groups
Please give a warm welcome to our new hosts! In July, we’ve had six more Meetup groups that have launched, and we’re excited to introduce you to the hosts.
See below for introductions (in the host’s own words) and info on their next Meetups.
Divi Valencia, Spain
Meet the host, Celine de Castro:
I am a virtual assistant and help clients with backend efficiency (using software and applications) as well as create websites using WordPress and Divi.
I love creating events where I help connect people. I also love sharing my knowledge as well as learning from others. I enjoy hosting events that provide presentations and workshops.
They’ve already had their first event. Their next one is on August 12th. If you’re in Valencia, Spain, check them out!
Divi Mexico City, Mexico
Meet the host, Michel Jiménez:
I’m a digital marketer and Mexican journalist. I use Divi since 2013 and just love it. I know that there are plenty of WordPress designers and developers here in Mexico City, and a lot of them use Elementor because they never tried Divi before. So, I’m like an evangelist with them, teach them how to use it and how to solve their issues because a lot of them doesn’t speak English (mine is not the best neither), and I would love to create a Divi Community of Mexican Divi-ers.
I just love to have meetings and to knowing people. I have like 20 sites designed with Divi and I’m in several Facebook Groups of WordPress Designers in Mexico. I think I can reach them and make a lot of work together learning and sharing the knowledge around the web design with the Elegant Themes tools.
Check their first event out! We’re excited for Mexico City!
Divi Auckland, New Zealand
Meet the host, Rob Robertson:
I am a website and e-learning builder specializing in Divi, WordPress, and the Learndash, one of the best WordPress LMS plugins.
I am passionate about Divi and WordPress
Their first event is Tuesday, September 3rd. Check them out!
Go to Divi Auckland, New Zealand
Divi Parramatta, Sydney, Australia
Meet the host, Mitch Menghi:
We are a small web agency in western suburbs of Sydney specialising in the development, maintenance and promotion of Divi websites.
We have been exclusively using Divi for a number of years now and our focus is to become experts in Divi.
We have successfully created custom modules, custom child themes, and custom plugins for Divi to extend its features and functionality.
I personally am a Meetup.com member for the WP Sydney Community and am the founding member of the WP Parramatta Chapter on meetup.com for a number of years now. I am also a WordCamp organiser for 2019 WordCamp Sydney.
If you’re in the Parramatta, Sydney area, be sure to join the group!
Divi Santa Cruz, California, United States
Meet the host, Anthony Garcia:
I have been a graphic designer for more than 20 years, designing websites for 10 and exclusively in WordPress for 5. Over the past two years, I have been using Divi, and loving it.
I also make movies, and music, and things out of wood. 🙂
I’d like to connect more with the creative community in Santa Cruz, and when the opportunity to start a local chapter of the Divi Nation meetup became available I thought that’d be a great way to do that.
Be on the lookout for their first event to be scheduled asap. If you’re around the Santa Cruz, CA area, join them!
Divi Gulfport, Mississippi, USA
Meet the host, Suzi Wilson:
I worked as a Sr. Systems Analyst for Liberty Mutual Insurance for 28 years before marrying my current husband in 2010. In 2011 we moved to Houston, TX where I started my web design business (then Houston Web Net). We moved to Gulfport, MS in 2012 and I rebranded as Gulf Coast Web Net. I currently manage 100+ websites, most of which I designed.
The reason I went into web design was so I could combine my artistic interest with my technical knowledge.
I really love Divi. I do a lot of tasks in my daily job, but my favorite is the design aspect. I wanted to make this a collaborative group where we bring our new designs, questions, and solutions together so we can all learn.
Their first event is this Thursday, August 8th. Be sure to check them out!
Updates from Existing Groups
We’re mid-summer and keeping our communities active! Monthly meetings are crucial to growing meetup communities. Nothing is worse than stagnant meetup group with no events planned. And we all know how slow summer can be in the tech industry. Monthly meetups are a requirement for our official Divi meetups.
Check out the monthly happenings of some of our communities below!
Divi Columbus, Ohio, USA
From the Host, Nathan B. Weller:
Divi Columbus had our first meeting at the downtown Metropolitan Library. We did a basic introduction to the Visual Builder, talked plenty of shop, got to know each other a bit, and by the end of the meeting had all our topics picked for the rest of the year! Our first meeting consisted of 8 Divi Users–some brand new, others old hat–and there seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for where we can go from here.
The Columbus community has just begun but with some key players in the city! Be sure to join!
Divi Destin/30A in Florida, USA
From the Host, Joy Todd:
The DIVI Destin / 30A group July 2019 meeting was held at The Craft Bar in Destin. We had an enjoyable and productive meeting with a nice group of members with diverse backgrounds and experiences. In attendance were Programmers, website developers, and several new WordPress users as well. Several of the members drove over 2 hours to attend the meeting. Since we are a tourist town, it’s a real challenge to attend meetings during the summer.
Topics included: ADA compliance, hosting, security, DIVI, why it’s important to use and stick with a solid WordPress program (such as DIVI), best way to move a website, how to manage your website, and staying up on plugins.
This group is really connecting….. getting to know each other and sharing information.
Next DIVI Destin / 20A Event is September (date/time/location TBA)
Guest Speaker: Allen Brooks
Allan is a data scientist that enjoys analyzing and manipulating data to create reports for small businesses.
“I used Google Analytics and Google Adwords to gather the data and illustrate to business owners the status of their business based on certain key performance indicators such as view page and bounce rates.”
If you’re a Divi user near Destin, Florida, be sure to join Joy’s group and get notified of their next event!
Divi Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
From the Host, Bob Briare:
This was the first Divi Las Vegas Meetup. Each person was able to show their websites off and describe what part of Divi they liked the best. It is awesome to share ideas and tricks and learn new things you never considered. Everyone is excited to meet again and get a little deeper into some to the great features they utilize in their Divi theme. There were five attendees for the first meetup and while it would have been nicer to have more, the amount of knowledge shared was enough for everyone.
Be sure to check out their Meetup page for details on their next event!
Divi London, Ontario, Canada
From the Host, Heather Peel:
On July 3rd we held our first Meetup for Divi London, Ontario.
There was 5 in attendance and we discussed the differences between Divi and other themes and editors. The group has nearly doubled in the last month to 25 members. Looking forward to our next meetup!
Do you reside in the London, Ontario area? Get plugged in with this great Divi meetup!
Divi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
From the Host, Gaurav Sharma:
Since it was our 1st Divi Mumbai Meetup we discussed a lot about how we landed on Divi and it worked out well. Some of the technical problems were also solved in this meetup and hoping for more meetups like this soon!
Our Divi Meetup presence is growing in India. Be sure to join this group!
Divi New York City, USA
From the Host, Patty Rose:
Our most recent DiviNYC meetup “Hot July Divi: Understanding the Many Updates to the Divi Page Builder” was, well, on fire! Our fellow Divi NYCer, Mickey Deiner, a retired Technical Project Manager and IS Director who has taken up website development and mastering the Divi theme, presented several of the most recent Divi feature updates with live, on the spot demonstrations.
Members were collaborating, sharing, learning and the discussion was full and informative. And really, what’s better than talking Divi shop? Come join us whether you live/work near the NYC area or just plan on visiting! I look forward to connecting with you. Patty Rose, PattyRose.com
Be sure to check out their Meetup page for details on their next event!
Divi Phoenix, Arizona, USA
From the Host, Carol Stambaugh:
We’ve grown to over 60 members!! Steadily we’ve been learning the basics of Divi and it’s been such a blast to watch our community grow and learn! The interesting thing about our group is that we meet over lunch. We endearingly call it “brownbagging.” We hope you’ll come out and share your expertise and/or your willingness to learn!
The Phoenix community is super active with two meetups per month! Be sure to join!
Divi Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
From the Host, Dustin Olsen:
In July our attendance numbers grew by one and had a great conversation about what Child Themes are and how to create your own Child Theme Files. In August, we are going to tackle Website Security and things you can do to protect your WP website.
We’d love to have your presence at this meetup! Join today!
Divi San Diego, California, USA
From the Hosts, Marcus Boyd & Ryan Berg:
In San Diego, Ryan and Marcus hosted San Diego’s first Divi Project Showcase. Using Zoom’s Video Conferencing app [but still in-person], three members of San Diego Divi Nation shared projects and spent time discussing the various tools and methods used to create them. It was such a great learning experience that we’ve decided to do it again for our next meetup!
Have you joined this group yet? Feel free to check them out the next time you’re getting your San Diego fix!
Divi Valencia, Spain
From the Host, Celine de Castro:
To launch the presence of Divi Nation in Valencia, we hosted a summer Mix and Mingle event. It was a bit of a hard-sell because summer in Spain had started which meant most everyone had left the city in search of cooler weather.
We did have a great multi-national turnout, with members from Austria, Poland, Venezuela, Canada and of course Spain.
Events of this group will be run mainly in English but will have the occasional Spanish presenter. They were all of varying levels from novice to veteran users. It was also a great time to practise our language skills – both English and Spanish.
Our next event on August 12, “Time to get a head start” will be focused on getting started with Divi, learning about the plugins – Monarch and Bloom.
Don’t be bashful and get involved with this group today!
