Let’s Welcome Our New Meetup Groups
Please give a warm welcome to our new hosts! August brought us two more Meetup groups, and we’re thrilled to introduce you to the hosts.
See below for introductions (in the host’s own words) and info on their next Meetups.
Divi Lone Tree, Colorado, USA
Meet the host, Steve deGuzman:
[I’m] a Real Estate and Financial Accounting graduate from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, with a proven track record of success in all aspects of business management, including operations, sales, marketing, recruiting, training, budgeting, accounting, and project management.
[I would like to lead a Divi meetup group] to meet other like-minded individuals and to expand my knowledge base by learning and sharing with others. I think web development and the WordPress platform stands as one of the fastest ways to become an expert in web development
Their first event is next week! Be sure to join the group if you’re in the Lone Tree/Denver area!
Divi Milano, Italy
Meet the host, Francesco Cinque:
Born in Naples (Italy) in 1983, I’m a professional photographer and web designer. [I’m the] founder of the Cinquephoto Studio (www.cinquephoto.com) and Sitiperprofessionisti (www.sitiperprofessionisti.com). I also work as a Technical Support Manager [for] an Italian telecommunication company. [Since] 2019, I’m the CEO and Co-Founder of the IGEA Medical Center.
[I want to lead a Divi Meetup group in Milano to] meet people, share knowledge, create a community and interactions.
This group is brand new and just got their go-ahead. Check them out!
Divi Tampa, Florida, USA
Meet the host, Steve Willingham:
With 30 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Steve has been a key team leader on a wide variety of government projects for manned space flight, satellite communications, civil aviation, and commercial venues including insurance, financial services, medical technology, and accounting.
In 2015, Steve initiated the Foundation for Community Driven Innovation, Inc., d/b/a FCDI, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to supporting academic achievement, economic development and the spirit of innovation through inspiring programs and active learning projects. Steve currently operates as the Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of FCDI. He was the main architect of FCDI’s Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Center (AMRoC) Fab Lab at the University Mall, and producer of the Roboticon event at the USF Yuengling Center, which combined are to the benefit of thousands of students annually. Steve uses the excellent Divi theme builder on all his websites!
Always in “learning mode” is something I always try to instill in the people I work with. And DIVI is constantly evolving, so having your personal learning mode always in the on position is a good approach to getting the most out of it. I hope to nurture a culture of learning and sharing our knowledge of Divi features, capabilities, procedures and techniques among the Tampa Bay Divi community.
Divi Tampa is brand new to our network! If you live in the area, you don’t want to miss joining this group!
Updates from Existing Groups
Our current Divi meetup organizers are really starting to grow their communities. And this happens by consistency with monthly meetups as well as community culture. With one month left in the year (and a busy one at that), it’s easy to forget to create content for it. We have found that ending your last meetup of the year with a Winter/Holiday social works extremely well. Sometimes, your community just wants to shoot the breeze and get to know each other. December is a perfect month to do that. What have you discovered works for your local meetup community during busy months? Let us know in the comments below!
Hey! Check out the latest monthly happenings of some of our communities!
Divi Auckland, New Zealand
From the Host, Robert Robertson:
Having now grown to 98 members the new Auckland Divi Meetup is not longer brand new. Having completed 3 MeetUps it is a vibrant diverse group of interesting people. One of the core things people seem to enjoy is we have facilitated discussions, rather than a one-way lecture. We also have our own Divi site using the Peepso Plugin, which is similar to BuddyPress, to share ideas and get support from other Divi MeetUp members.
Divi Auckland is the only Divi meetup in New Zealand currently so do not miss it!
Divi Douala, Cameroon
From the Host, Francis FOKWA:
This first Meetup aimed to introduce DIVI with all its potential. Nevertheless, those present loved [it]. In view of this first result, I think with those who love the product, we will better refine the strategy in order to make the product better loved and used.
Divi Douala just had their first meetup! Come on out and be apart of the magic in Cameroon!
Divi Cairo, Egypt
From the Host, Mohammad Sobhy:
Some testimonials [from the last meetup]:
“Lovely, and I am impressed by its features… Even if I am a Full-stack and WordPress Developer, I will give it a try it”
“That is [a] great builder created by react I love it and its layouts”
“Looking for more details next meetup”
The Divi Egypt community is eager to grow! Check out their enthusiasm for yourself!
Divi London, Ontario, Canada
From the Host, Heather Peel:
Our last meetup for the London Ontario Divi meetup group was a presentation to a number of new or non-users and was simply called Divi101. We have not had another meeting since October 21 yet but our next one is scheduled for December 1. It’s always a challenge to organize events at this time of year! This coming meetup will be hands-on and we’ll bring our laptops to help each other out with any technical issues we’re having as well as helping new users with any questions they have. [We’re] hosting it at a restaurant (a quaint Tea Lounge) owned by one of my clients, so if everyone decides to go shopping instead, I’ll just enjoy a lovely cup of Chai tea!
Do you reside in the London, Ontario area? Get plugged in with this great Divi meetup!
Divi Los Angeles, California, USA
From the Host, Christian Mauerer:
Hiiii from Divi LA! [At our last meetup] we talked about Divi 4.0 and it’s pro’s and con’s for beginner – what features to use and which are not so important. And of course, we all shared our stories that [brought] us to Divi
There’s a ton happening in LA! Get plugged in with this great Divi meetup!
Divi Phoenix, Arizona, USA
From the Host, Raquel Landefeld:
Divi Phoenix continues to grow as we’ve hit 90 members! Our past two meetups have been all about Divi 4.0 as Carol Stambaugh and David Curtiss took turns sharing their current experience with the new builder! We look forward to our one December meetup as the normal second meetup would conflict with Christmas (and we don’t want that). 😅
The Phoenix community has such a blast. They’d love to meet you so join today!
Divi Pune, Maharashtra, India
From the Host, Sandeep Apte:
“The Design Frame changes with DIVI 4.0!” emphasizes Sandeep Apte as the DIVIans of Pune have a great time working LIVE on www.thedesignframe.co, the DIVI web site of Mansi Engineer – one of Pune’s leading designers. Vinit Desai a DIVI tech wizard and life coach Ramesh Sood appreciate the nuances.
Thanks to Mehul Chimthankar the gracious host at WeWork – this was one of our finest DIVI Meetups!
Looking forward to the next LIVE adventure with DIVI 4.0! And hope lots more people join in!
Our Divi Pune is working hard to grow their community. Go check them out!
Divi Sacramento, California, USA
From the Host, Rosalinda Huck:
Divi Sacramento had its first Meetup on 11/14, with six attendees! It was a great success, and included refreshments, a short ice-breaker, and a brainstorming discussion about the types of topics people would like to have covered in future Meetups. Looking forward to the next one on 12/12 — our first “Show and Tell”.
Divi Sacramento just had their first meetup and would love for you to join in the fun!
Divi Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
From the Host, Dustin Olsen:
Divi Salt Lake City met up this month and talked about when and how to use mobile settings on your website for better user experience. As we kept talking and diving deeper, one more person would say, “Wow, learning that right there was worth coming to this.” The best part of the meetup though was watching everyone share their own experiences and offer up advice to solve particular problems. If you’re in Salt Lake City, come join us at our next meetup on Wednesday, December 11 and learn how to use hover options.
Like Dustin said, come on out next month!
Divi Seattle, Washington, USA
From the Hosts, Bradon Garley & Shane Griffiths:
Our community is growing and attendance is rising! This month we did a demonstration of the new Divi 4.0 theme builder. We built a demo site using the theme builder and WooCommerce. We went over how to build a custom header/footer, Blog category/archive page, and custom search results. Many members in the group already have Divi sites but haven’t used the new theme builder yet, so this was a perfect crash course. We went over how to convert existing Divi sites over to use the new theme builder, and how to start a new project off right using the theme builder from the beginning. Divi Seattle’s next meetup will be a demonstration on how to rebuild an existing site (submitted from the group) in Divi.
Be sure to check Divi Seattle’s community out! Even if you’re visiting.
Divi Toulouse, France
From the Host, Fifa Randrianasolo:
All professionals know it, having a clean 404 page is not futility.
For this 2nd Meetup, everyone brought their computer and in a diligent atmosphere, we created in less than 1 hour, each 404 page professional and ergonomic! Easy peasy!
After the effort, the comfort around good food and good wine 😉
Ya gotta check this community out!
Divi Valencia, Spain
From the Host, Celine de Castro:
Our last event was attended by 4 people for a Divi Workshop. It was productive and all 3 would like to have additional Divi Workshops. I did find that although we were a very small group, they each had different concerns so I will create additional workshops but focused on specific things like how to create a shopping cart, or how to style your blog page.
We are so thrilled to see this group’s growth. Check them out!
