This week we’ve got another interview in our series of Elegant Themes’ team members. This time around we’re talking to one of our developers, Slava Myznikov. We learn his WordPress story, how he joined the Elegant Themes team, and what he’s been working on to get Divi 3.0 ready to launch in under 50 days!
Developer Slava Myznikov on Divi 3.0, Improving Your Dev Skills, and Much More–The Divi Nation Podcast, Episode 27

Slava’s story is a great one. Our conversation gives you a great glimpse at the type of genuine and hard-working person he is. He’s seen a lot here at Elegant Themes–starting in the support forums, moving up to bug fixes, and finally joining the core development team. It’s inspiring to hear about his journey from WordPress enthusiast to working on what may be the most popular premium WordPress theme in the world. I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as we did! If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comment section below.

just watching videos, i am going try for my blog, nice features.
Another great interview. Years ago, when I started using WordPress and Elegant Themes, Slava was always working the forums and did a fantastic job. Actually, let me state that Slava was always able to see ‘outside the box’ with a problem and come up with some type of fix. The guy is an incredible asset with his ability to think in terms of the theme.
In both the iTunes and RSS feeds, I don’t get the podcast audio, but rather just a document link to cdn.elegantthemes.com. Has anyone else seen this?
Can someone fix the Feed contents? I’d like to be able to listen offline in he iPhone Podcast app
Great job about DVI theme and plugIn. Your developper team resolve more problem in the construction and give a better experience to create a web site and more.
Thanks for your job
Hey guys. what a great podcast. I normally can’t make it all the way through but found Slava’s story really great. I think (for me) it was also really good to see him from this different angle after he has helped me out so often in the forums!
I found his ideas about tackling difficult problems to be inspiring and will keep his words in mind as I tackle those tasks difficult to me – at my keyboard.
The more I read about the new Divi front-end editor the more I look forward to it. Slava hinted that it is so fast that we might not want to use the back-end editor any more. Is this the React technology at work?
If so, I wonder how long until WordPress themselves start integrating this technology to speed up other aspects of the core, specifically the back-end editor.
or….. is there an option here for a 3rd party developer (like ET) to take what they have done so far and replace the existing back-end editor? …..
Great podcast.
thanks again for your efforts.
John.
Thank you for your comment.
There is a Calypso project which is the WordPress dashboard built using the React technology – https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso
It only works with websites created on wordpress.c on though, so you can’t use it on websites hosted elsewhere, but one day probably it’ll become the deafult WordPress dashboard.
React as far as I know makes the front end editor really fast.
I am not sure if they can use react for the backend editor.
Another great episode and a great interview! I always look forward to these videos!
Great episode, another mention of great developers starting in support.
Divi is so amazing as it is – can’t wait for Divi 3.0!
Waiting for next week and more video tutorials on youtube channel 🙂
