Looking for some flat design WordPress themes for your next project? I’m all for it! With its minimalistic look and focus on usability, flat design is a great choice for your next WordPress site.

But many of the popular WordPress themes are still hung up on flashy 3-D designs that don’t mesh well with flat design principles. So, if you’re looking for that flat design aesthetic, you’ll have to sort through a ton of themes that don’t fit your needs. Or, you could just read this list for some of the best flat design WordPress themes around.

20+ Best Flat Design WordPress Themes

Before I get to the list, I want to tell you a little bit about how I chose which themes to showcase. Here are the criteria that went into making this list:

  • Does the theme follow flat design principles? Okay, a bit of an obvious one. But I made sure that each theme follows flat design principles (or at least makes it easy to implement flat design, if it offers multiple style variations).
  • What is the theme’s rating? Whenever there’s a public rating, I made sure that it was at least 4-stars or better.
  • How popular is the theme? I view popularity as a positive indicator because it showcases the wisdom of the crowds and makes it more likely that the theme will receive continued support and development.

So with those criteria explained, let’s jump straight into the list of flat design WordPress themes.

  1. Hi ET! Number 6 is Flatbook. I checked it out and felt serious envy over only one feature, the ebook preview in http://demo.eriktailor.net/flatbook/demo-1/. I would do a little dance, for real if one of your video series tuts included the code and directions to add this to the Divi ebook theme I am working on. I don’t want to leave Divi but I lust after that one feature. I think the community would be so happy to have that. Please!!! I’d upload a screen shot if I could.

Also, you can create an extremely good looking page within the drag and drop option. Overall, this theme has the flexibility to use. I have shared my opinion about this theme as i have used it.
