I’m here to give you a sneak peek at a feature coming soon to Divi 5. With Divi 5’s foundation complete, we’re now focused on aggressive feature development, with new features in the works as part of the Divi 5 feature swap.

Every time we finish a feature, we start working on a new one, and every time we start working on a new feature, I’m going to tell you all about it!

Last week, we released Divi AI for Divi 5, and the team involved is already working on their next project: Advanced Units.

Advanced Units will introduce support for various CSS units, value functions, and variables to Divi 5.

Get all the details in this video. 👇

What Are Advanced Units?

With the introduction of Advanced Units, we will replace Divi’s existing unit fields and range sliders with a new multi-functional component. It will come with draggable anchors that mimic range slider functionality, clickable arrows from Divi’s existing unit fields, improved unit validation logic, unit quick selection, and support for CSS value functions and variables. It’s the one field to rule them all!

New Units And Unit Quick Selection

The new Advanced Units field will support a broader range of CSS units, with some of the most commonly used units available for quick selection. You’ll be able to type in any unit you like, and if you want some suggestions, you can check the unit picker.

CSS Function Support

More importantly, this new field will support CSS value functions, such as calc(), clamp(), min(), and max(), which are incredibly useful for designing responsive websites with fluid typography.

For example, you can use clamp() to scale text based on viewport width while preventing it from becoming too small or too large. clamp(5rem, 2vw, 10rem) ensures a title size of at least 5rem, scales with 2vw as the viewport changes, but does not exceed 10rem. This optimizes the text for readability across all screen sizes without responsive editing. And that’s just one of many applications.

CSS Variables And Dynamic Content

Finally, we will extend the Advanced Units field to support CSS variables, which you can define using Divi’s code fields at the page or website level.

And that’s not all! Soon, unit fields will support a new design variable system built into Divi, but that’s a sneak peek for another day.

Ok, fine, I’ll give you a little sneak peek of that too. 😁

Keep an eye out for this feature, which will launch very soon. We’re updating Divi every two weeks, and we’ll keep that momentum going all year!

Have You Tried Divi AI for Divi 5?

In case you missed it, check out my video from last week announcing the release of Divi AI for Divi 5. Our full suite of AI tools, including website, layout, section, module, text, image, and code generation, has been added to Divi 5.

When mastered, it can significantly improve your efficiency, and it feels like having a helpful designer, copywriter, developer, and photographer at your side.

Many More Features Coming Soon

Let us know your thoughts in the comments or if you have any questions. Before you go, I have a favor to ask. We are on a mission to leapfrog the competition in 2025 with dozens of new features, and we want you to know about all of them.

That’s why you must subscribe to our YouTube channel, as it’s the primary way we spread the word (in addition to the Divi newsletter). Over 50% of our viewers keep returning to watch these updates but aren’t subscribers. If that’s you, consider clicking the subscribe button and following along as Divi makes its comeback.

All it takes is one little click. 😁

We will fill this year with feature announcements and sneak peeks you don’t want to miss. Stay tuned, and I’ll see you for another sneak peek, which I promise is right around the corner.

  1. Divi 5 LOL suppose to be new since 2 years and still no date

    • The Divi 5 Alpha is available today. It’s a production-ready build suitable for use on new websites. You can learn about Divi 5’s unconventional release schedule here. You can download Divi 5 today here.

      • Nick Roach. No, we can’t use it yet! None of the Market place plugins work on it! Can’t even get a basic carousel. All the software companies are waiting for DIVI 5 release before releasing their versions.

        • Creators have had access to Divi 5 since the Dev Alpha and have been working on their modules ever since. They are not waiting for anything. They just need time to finish development.

All the more reason to keep Divi 4 and Divi 5 separate for now, and let customers choose the version that works best for them.

          • While I do agree that some developers need more time, I have spoken to the heads of four of the most widely used and popular plugins within the Divi ecosystem, and they all said confidentially, that they will not release a Divi 5 version of their plugin until you are in Beta.

Perhaps now would be a good time to finish the conversion of existing features from Divi 4 to 5, and then you can circle back to your “feature swap” efforts…get the Beta out asap, allowing for wider adoption by customers who see no reason to build a Divi 5 site until the plugins they rely on are also available.

            • Nothing is changing between now and the final release of Divi 5 that affects third-party module conversion. We’ll enter beta when all Woo modules are finished, which is unrelated.

Developers can convert their modules to Divi 5 and release their Divi 5-compatible extensions anytime; they just need more time to finish development. I’m sure they’re all hard at work.

  2. looks great! this will open up great scaling opportunities for fonts and row / module widths etc.

One question, will there be options for nested columns in the near future? Or at least settings for different widths per column, flexbox and related settings like you biggest competitor offers?

    • Yep. Nested rows, customizable column widths, and Flexbox controls are all coming to Divi 5. We’ll work on nested rows and customizable column widths first, as both will be relatively easy to implement.

  3. Been wanting this for awhile. So nice!!!

  4. Is an icon manager one of these “Many More Features Coming Soon”?
It would be cool to be able to integrate your own, or free, icons without having to dive into the code or use a paid plugin…

PS: I am already using divi 5 on a new website and so far I have not experienced any problems with bugs and shortcomings that still need to be fixed.
    Good work

    • This isn’t something we have immediate plans for, but I’ll keep it in mind!

  5. There are always cynics and naysayers. Life it too short to pay attention to them. I think Divi 5 is pretty darn exciting. There are growing pains but it seems to me you folks at Elegant themes are being as transparent and proactive as you can.

I just started a new site with Divi 5 and it is smooth going. My workflow is coming together very nicely.

I don’t use too many plugins / accessories from the Divi marketplace, but so far the 3rd party WP plugins I use (Advanced Custom Fields Pro, WP Code, and some others) have no problems at all.

I am excited to get the Divi 5 production version so I can update a production site that I maintain.

  6. Will there be a native ToC module for post (article) templates 🙂 ?

  7. “Divi Supreme Pro for Divi 5” is currently available for testing, but it’s not yet stable enough for production sites, especially with issues like non-functional popups. The prolonged timeline for Divi 5’s final release is not only challenging plugin vendors but also small businesses like ours, who are feeling the impact. Divi’s page builder is fantastic, which is why we’re so eager for Divi 5. Clients are eagerly waiting for an improved version, as Divi 4’s performance is lacking. Delays in finalizing Divi 5 risk losing clients to faster-moving competitors.

Instead of hyping Divi 5, it’s better to focus on finishing the product first. While the Alpha version shows potential, it’s not yet ready for existing projects, and clients are eagerly waiting for the final release.

    • Plugin developers, such as Divi Supreme, have had access to the Divi 5 foundation since the Dev Alpha. There is nothing about the current state of Divi 5 that’s preventing them from updating their products. They simply need time.

The fact that they have a beta version ready now is a great sign that they are being proactive.

In the meantime, we’ll keep making Divi 5 better every two weeks. You can use Divi 4 or Divi 5; whatever works best for you.

If Divi Supreme is essential for your websites, then you’ll want to continue using Divi 4 until the new version of their product is complete. Giving you this choice, and releasing Divi 5 in multiple phases, ensures your websites won’t be disrupted.

  8. I am looking for a new version of Contact Form, with more features.
    e.g. custom “subject line”.

Also, I want minimum plugins on my website.

    Any such plans?

    • We’ll be adding more modules to Divi 5 after the official release. At this stage, we are focused on foundational improvements with the most significant impact.

  9. I know you are busy with Divi5 but any plans to update your Monarch plugin? Even a quick fix to update Twitter/X?

  10. Hello, I want to ask why you stopped making templates for Divi lifetime? There were 370 and that’s how many are left? Will you release new ones? And I have a no less important question about the fact that I come across sites like divilife, etc. that sell plugins and extensions. I want to ask, give me the stores and sites from which we can buy add-ons for Divi besides yours, a reliable source that we can rely on. There are plugins with lifetime that I want to buy to enrich my experience with Divi. My clients are also interested in purchasing from your add-on partners. I will await your response. I hope that every question will be answered. Best regards

    • We released new templates every week. We switched from static layout packs to “starter sites,” which also include presets and customizer settings, making them much more useful. We released this starter site yesterday.

      • As I purchased Divi lifetime, can I use them and if so, how? You didn’t answer my other question separately….?

  11. Please tell us, when will Divi5 be available to upgrade existing Divi4 websites? The speed of Divi 4 is a big issue. But as I understand, it’s currently not recommended to upgrade to Divi 5. When is this gonna happen? I’m waiting since 2 years for that moment…

  12. Are all the premade template ready for Divi5?

    • Yes, all layouts built with Divi 4 work with Divi 5 automatically.

  13. Are there any tutorials on using these various forms of measure? I’m sure the majority use pixel but there are so many other measurements like em, rem, vW, vH, calc and not sure where or when they are applicable vs. pixel.

    • Hey Robbie. We’ll be creating some articles explaining each of those and how they will work in Divi. But they are common CSS units that are worth knowing outside of Divi as well. Many of our previous articles covering those topics are specific to D4, and so might be more complicated than what we’ll be writing for the new D5 feature. Stay tuned!

  14. So where are the action icons for hover and mobile function for various elements such as body texxt , heading test to actually change the size or line height, etc. These isoncs used to show up when any element name was hovered but now are missing. Are they gone or how do you get to them?
    Thanks
